History Of Dallas, Texas 75204
Incorporated on February 2, 1856, Dallas is a city located in Texas, United States of America. It is the county seatof Dallas County and its portions also extend to Collin, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall counties. During the Adams-Onís Treaty between the US and Spain in 1819, the northern boundary of New Spain was the Red River. Hence, the location of the city now known as Dallas was within the Spanish territory. The region known as Dallas today remained in the Spanish territory until when Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821. Following the Mexican declaration of independence, Dallas became a part of the Mexican state of Coahuila Texas. In 1836 when the people of Texas and many Anglo-American settlers were declared independent from Mexico, the republic of Texas was formed. Today, Dallas is a prominent city in Texas as well as in the United States of America. This city now features one of the finest economy in the United States.
